I installed Windows 8.1 using Boot Camp today and ran into a problem - the external display was connecting and showed up as an 'unknown device' called 'Studio Display,' but wasn't functioning as a monitor. I'm probably in the extreme minority, in that I'm using the biggest of the old ADC-based Apple Cinema Displays, which requires daisy-chaining multiple adapters (ADC-DVI, then DVI-Thunderbolt), but works.
